Your Responsibilities:

  • Support Head of Innovation in driving Digital Transformaion Strategy & Roadmap within the area of accountability, track the progress of execution and develop correction plans as necessary.
  • Research, explore and source for new technology solutions that can contribute to digitalization of customer experiences. You will be asked to develop solutions that allow us to build new, agile, digital customer capabilities while  keeping in mind and finding a way around challenges of the legacy IT stack
  • Develop ideas into working prototypes for market and user validation before scale up. You are to leverage on cloud based, open source or other available solutions in the market and perform technical feasibility studies where required
  • Present your idea/solution pitch to convince and get buy in and support from key stakeholders. We will expect you to hold your own in technical discussions, be a subject matter expert, and have an end-to-end view of the solution
  • Lead the solution development & implementation including but not limited to requirements clarification, robust & scalable design, systems integration analysis and delivery.  Approach to delivery may differ from case-to-case e.g. through internal engineering teams, vendors, off-the-shelf solutions, hybrid approaches etc
  • Troubleshoot any emerging issues during deployment, implementation and integration. You will also be expected develop a game-plan to transfer the final product/solution to an ongoing  delivery team seamlessly
  • Continuously instill the exploration mindset to drive transformation and IT Capability Uplift jointly with Manage Service Provider
  • Change the Way of Work with biz to jointly build biz requirement to prepare for IT Disruption and new innovation for future digital transformation by accelerating Digital transformation for ITDEV & OPS
  • Inject new mindset shift and new way of work, Exploration of best practices / non Telco solution  in the market and to execute POC for exploration based on defined scope

Your Merits:

You have the right mix of technical skills & experience for this role with an exposure to both contemporary methods of software development & architecture as well as typical legacy IT stacks of a large consumer fronting organization (e.g. Telco, Bank, Insurance etc). We expect you to have expertise in the following domains:

  • Experience and comfortable in creating concept presentations and articulating to key stakeholders such as CIO/CTO, VPs, Directors, architects, and project managers
  • Proven ability to scope, time, cost estimate, and plan software engineering initiatives
  • Experience as a hands-on architect who has developed and deployed large-scale enterprise applications on one or more cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, VMware)
  • Experience in SOA based applications in Java/Microservices apps with frameworks and libraries such as .NET, Spring, Hibernate, J2EE, JDBC, JMS, JMX, Spring Cloud, Netflix OSS
  • Understanding of Cloud Native principles and techniques such as Microservices/BDD; containers/Dockers; Agile; 12 factor apps; test driven development; cloud; platforms such as Cloud Foundry, Dockers, PCF, BlueMix etc.; Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery
  • Knowledge of database design; source code testing frameworks; build pipelines
  • Experience of having worked in agile development teams with Agile Scrum and Lean MVP based planning and execution with XP/pair-programming
  • Domain knowledge of the Telco IT stack will be an advantage particularly in the areas of Billing Services, CRM & Protocols (SS7, CAMEL, Diameter, CORBA and SOAP)
  • Background in Software Engineering and/or Software Architecture
